Add the N*

Glasvegas
The Velvet Underground did it first, then we had My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus & Mary Chain add waves of guitars to the mix, followed by the current version of The Raveonettes (although they are mainly a three-piece), add a little contemporary Youth Group (A-ha influnces notwithstanding)--more members, and a wash of even more sound and you've got Glasvegas--a wonderful new group from Dalmarnock in Glasgow, Scotland! "The bomp and brilliance... of a Glasgow band," and so it goes. Sometimes you want to tell people to 'Go out and buy it!' but unfortunately, the band's own early singles (which, themselves, are not even a year old at this point) are going to be hard to find (holding high prices on eBay at the mo'), having sold out mostly in the UK where they've been a continuous feature-piece in British music paper The NME for a while now, with the band wrapped up in a label bidding war until just recently... when they were signed to Columbia Records. And even the NME might not have caught wind of them so fast if it weren't for McGee--the Alan McGee of Creation Records (Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Felt, etc.)--who actually discovered the band at the same place that he discovered Oasis (at a local Glasgow venue called King Tut's).
